Florida EBB (FEBB) History

The Florida chapter of the National Environmental Balancing Bureau (NEBB), headquartered in Clearwater, serves NEBB Certified Firms, Professionals and Technicians located in the State of Florida.

The Chapter was Established in 1981, with the first president of FEBB Mr. Eddie Daniel. Our members perform testing, adjusting, and balancing of heating, ventilating, and air-conditioning systems, commission and retro-commissioning building systems, execute sound and vibration testing, building enclosure testing, test and certify laboratory fume hoods, and electronic and biological cleanrooms.

FEBB is also home to three (3) NEBB Practical Test Centers which are in Jacksonville, Largo and Deerfield Beach. In 1990 the first Florida test center was placed in operation in Jacksonville, and was operational for two years. The Deerfield Beach Test center followed in the early 90’s with the second to follow in Largo in the mid 90’s. In 2002 a third test center returned to Jacksonville allowing the FEBB chapter to serve our Florida candidate’s but also to assist NEBB in nationwide candidates.

FEBB has seen great growth and leadership over the years, which started with the original 8 member firms and has now grown to over 46-member firms. Through our leadership and mentoring, FEBB has assisted our Florida firms in NEBB’s Procedural Standards, maintaining quality standards and providing educational training programs.
